Introduction Archive 35mm

While my photographic work is now very much focused on large format landscape photography I thought a few nods to my past would be appropriate. For all of my time as a documentary photographer I used and thrilled at using only 35mm format, both film and digital; with the vast majority of that being with Leica M and R cameras.

During most if not all of the many and varied assignments I worked on there was always a brief and enjoyable moment of calm and quiet devoted to just relaxing and enjoying the landscape and occasionally forgetting the worries and madness of the day. I never approached “Landscapes” with any overtly serious intent, more from a perspective of having something quiet and simple with which to recharge my batteries. Funny that serious and slow should now be the mainstay of my work and approach to photography, and with a large format camera.

I hope you enjoy these few early landscape moments.

Wishing you fair light and full frames
