Giles Penfound - Landscape Photographer.

After more that thirty five years as a professional documentary photographer I decided for reasons many and varied to make a complete and radical change to the way in which I engage with photography.

I have slowed down to a near geological photographic pace*, taking time to properly look at and engage with the landscape around the British Isles which is so dear to my heart. Time to discover, appreciate, consider, think, reflect and make just one photograph at a time.

Many thanks for your time and welcome to my adventure with slow photography.

Wishing you fair light and full frames.

Giles

*Note:
My current "Tongue-in-cheek" definition of photographic time as it relates to how long one spends making a single photograph (negative or silver gelatin print in my case) goes something like this. 1. Press/News. 2.Documentary. 3. Glacial. 4.Geological. then somewhere beyond here is the goal of Cosmic Photographic Time…
